Apparel Export Promotion Council

The Apparel Export Promotion Council is a government body established to promote Indian apparel exports. AEPC focuses on promoting the Indian apparel manufacturing textile industry in the domestic market as well as overseas market. To avail of the benefits of schemes under the Foreign Trade Policy, the textile exporter is required to have AEPC e-RCMC. Such as access to market development support grants and schemes. AEPC, exporters can either be member exporters or apply as registered exporters to the Council.

Eligibility for AEPC Certification

For Registered Exporter
  • The applicant should be a registered firm under the Companies Act.
  • Applicants must have an Importer-Exporter Certificate issued by DGFT and a Digital Signature Certificate DSC is also required.
  • An applicant must be an undischarged bankrupt, "which means he or she must be legally free from any debts."
For member exporter

Export performance of the exporter in the last 3 consecutive financial years of at least Rs 1 crore

Benefits of AEPC Certification
  • GST Facilitation: AEPC is facilitating GST-related issues of exporters.
  • Trade Facilitation: To help exporters resolve their problems, AEPC proactively processes complaints of exporters coming before Customs, ICEGATE, DGFT, ECGC, and other organizations involved in exports and imports.
  • Advice for Labor Law: The legal advisor will also assist registered exporters by providing legal opinion and day-to-day advice and clarification on all applicable labor and employment laws when needed.
  • Market Access Initiative: Apparel exporters showcase their best goods in domestic and international exhibitions. It also helps in identifying international partners for up-scaling and technological upgrading and provides textile and apparel industry market information
  • Access to Seminars and Workshops: AEPC is responsible for organizing workshops, seminars, and webinars related to the apparel sector. Registered members can benefit from such events to expand their knowledge and network about the industry.
  • Access Skill Assessment Cell: The skill Assessment Cell (SAC) was set up with the main goal of running skill assessment initiatives in the apparel/garment, khadi, and carpet sectors to generate employment, grow the economy, and improve society. SAIL helps boost morale, improves the social status of candidates, and transforms the workforce into a certified skill pool.
Documents Required for AEPC RCMC
  • Copy of import-export code
  • Self-attested copy of SSL in case of manufacturer exporter
  • Undertaking duly notarized on non-judicial stamp paper
  • Self-attested copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association in case of a company.
  • Certificate of Incorporation/Partnership Deed of the Firm or Company
  • Certificate or letter of intent, industrial license, and self-attested acknowledgment issued by the concerned authority
  • Along with the above documents the following documents are required to become an AEPC member.
  • Registration cum Membership Certificate of Registered Exporter
  • Export turnover during the last 3 financial years was duly certified by a Chartered Accountant or Banker.
